Terms and Conditions

This participant agreement and code of conduct defines what we mean by ‘responsible participation.’

And, so, by taking part in a Job Search Council (JSC), each person (Participant) agrees to comply with the terms and conditions set forth in this Job Search Council Participant Agreement.

Eligibility Requirements:

Participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Bring a good faith interest in following the Never Search Alone method, which includes asking for help, being open-hearted, providing, and receiving support from other job seekers in connection with their job search.
  • Conduct approximately 80 hours of work on your Never Search Alone job search (you can review the commitment you are making and see the chart below).
  • Attend every one of your first 11 meetings (and maybe more, depending on how long your search takes).
  • Be accountable to others: The job search success of every individual depends on every member's commitment.
  • Participate in an orientation session run by our volunteer team (or watch a recording).
  • Develop a charter with your JSC and abide by that charter (in terms of commitment, meeting times, etc.)
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct below.
  • Acknowledge and consent to the Disclaimers below.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have no felony convictions for violent crimes or sex offenses.

JSC Code of Conduct

Users understand that the JSC’s are intended to be a harmonious, safe, and productive space for all. To that end:

  • Participants will treat other job seekers, volunteers, Collaborative Gain employees, officers, contractors, and volunteers (collectively, JSC Personnel) with respect, and will refrain from harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any other person.
  • Participants will be respectful of others’ time and tolerant of others’ views.
  • Participants who exhibit disruptive behavior, or otherwise violate the JSC Code of Conduct, will be required to leave the JSC meeting and may be barred from future participation at the sole discretion of JSC Personnel.

Disclaimers

  1. Collaborative Gain relies on self-reporting of JSC participants and does not conduct background checks or other screening of potential participants to determine eligibility or otherwise.
  2. Collaborative Gain makes no representations or guarantees with respect to the utility of the JSC for any participant, or their success in achieving their desired career advancement.
  3. Absent gross negligence or willful misconduct, neither Collaborative Gain nor JSC Personnel are responsible for any injury to the person of, or loss or damage to the property of, any Participant that may arise in connection with their participation in the JSC.
  4. By taking part in a JSC, the Participant releases and holds Collaborative Gain and JSC Personnel harmless in connection with any injury, loss, damage or other claims arising out of matters that relate to the subject of disclaimers 1-3 above, and/or for the failure of any JSC Participant to comply with the JSC Code of Conduct.
